1. Scope
These terms and conditions govern the use of the Stareto platform, including its web application and any mobile applications. Stareto is operated by Zivue AS. By registering for Stareto, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the service. Registration and basic use of Stareto is free of charge.
The operator reserves the right to amend these terms with effect for the future, provided the changes are reasonable for existing users. In the event of changes, we will notify users by email. Changes are deemed accepted if the user does not object within four weeks of receiving the notification.
2. Registration and Accounts
To use the full range of Stareto services, users must register a free account. Users are obliged to provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.
Users may use a display name or pseudonym on the platform. The email address provided must be valid and belong to the user. Multiple registrations by the same person are not permitted.
Users must keep their login credentials confidential. Users are responsible for all activity that occurs under their account.
The operator reserves the right to refuse or revoke registration without giving reasons. In such cases, all stored user data will be deleted within 5 working days.
Accounts that remain incomplete or inactive for an extended period may be deleted by the operator after reasonable notice.
3. Minimum Age
You must be at least 16 years old to register for and use Stareto. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
4. Services
Stareto is a platform that enables users to track, rate, and discover activities, media, and interests. The platform learns from user interactions and provides personalised recommendations.
The operator endeavours to keep its services available but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows or technical issues may temporarily affect availability.
The operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party content displayed on the platform.
5. User Obligations
Users must not publish content that violates applicable law, infringes the rights of third parties, or is offensive, discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise harmful.
By uploading content, the user confirms that they hold the necessary rights to that content or have obtained permission from the rights holder.
The operator reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms or applicable law, and to suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate these obligations.
6. Content Rights
Users retain ownership of the content they create and upload. By posting content on Stareto, the user grants the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and adapt the content as necessary to operate and promote the platform.
This licence ends when the user deletes the content or their account, except where the content has been shared by other users or is required for legal compliance.
7. Account Deletion
Users may delete their account at any time through their account settings. Upon deletion, the user loses access to all Stareto services and their data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The operator may delete accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, after providing at least one month's notice by email.
8. Liability
The operator is liable only for damages caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of the operator or its legal representatives.
Users are solely responsible for any content they publish and for any resulting claims or damages.
Users are responsible for all activities carried out using their account credentials.
9. Warranty
The operator provides the platform "as is" and does not warrant against technical defects or interruptions in service availability.
10. Third-Party Content and Partner Links
Stareto displays editorial data as well as data from partner platforms. The operator assumes no liability for the content on partner websites.
If a user follows a link to a partner site and enters into a transaction, the contractual relationship exists solely between the user and the partner.
11. Copyright
All content, design, and works created by the operator are protected by copyright. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or use requires prior written consent.
12. Data Protection
The collection, processing, and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under EU/EEA consumer protection law, including the right to withdraw from distance contracts where applicable.
14. Final Provisions
Amendments to this agreement require written form. This agreement is governed by Norwegian law. For disputes arising from or in connection with this agreement, the courts of Oslo, Norway have jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the user's country of residence remain unaffected.
